Format: Bowlers will bowl a 4 game qualifying round, cut to the top half (total pins will not carry over to next round). Top half bowlers will then bowl 2 more games of qualifying with top 4 bowlers moving on to stepladder finals.  Lowest 2 seeds will bowl 1 game match with winner moving on to next seed until a champion is crowned.

TOURNAMENT RULES

1.)     FORMAT: Bowlers will bowl 4 games of qualifying moving a pair of lanes after each game.  Upon completion of the 1st qualifying round the field will be cut to the top half and then bowl 2 more games cutting to the top 4.  (Total pins will be reset between 1st and 2nd qualifying rounds.) The top 4 in each division will then bowl T.V. style stepladder finals with lowest 2 seeds bowling 1st game with winner moving on to next seed until a champion is crowned.

2.)     TIES: In the event of a tie, a 9th/10th frame roll off will be held.

3.)     CHECK IN:  All bowlers must be checked in with Tournament Official at least :30 min prior to start of event.

4.)     TARDIES: If a bowler is late, He/She will start game in the frame in progress with all preceding frames being counted as zero.

5.)     DRESS CODE: Will be strictly enforced! No inappropriate advertisements or gestures, short shorts/skirts, cutoffs, tank tops, or hats will be allowed.  Pants/shorts must be worn in such a way as to not expose underwear and must be approved length (just above the knee).  Bowlers are not permitted to smoke, drink, curse, or gambling during competition.  Poor sportsmanship will not be tolerated!  Any violation of these rules may result in disqualification.

6.)     SCORE CHANGES AND DISPUTES: All score changes and disputes must be brought to the attention of Tournament Director or other approved official.  Changes without the consent of said official may result in bowlers disqualification

7.)     USBC Rule 308d is modified as follows: When there are 100 or more entries in an event or division of an event, first place or the amount spent from the prize fund for a first place prize shall not exceed 60% of the total prize fund. Second place must be equal to at least one-half of first place or the amount spent from the prize fund for first place.

8.)     Rules 319a, 319c through 319e do not apply.

9.)     a) Entry Requirements

i) Membership: USBC Youth Members holding a current USBC membership card are eligible to enter.

       b) Divisions

                  i)           Division A (Scratch) Avg. 180 & Over

                  ii)          Division B (Handicap) Avg. 140-179

                  iii)         Division C (Handicap) Avg. 139 & Under

iv)         Any division with insufficient entries may be combined with another division at the discretion                                         of the Tournament Director

       c) Handicap will be 100% of the difference between the individual’s average and 180 based on standard                         handicap charts.

10.) AVERAGES

       a) Average used will be the highest of:

i)                    Highest 2012/2013 Book Average (excluding Summer) with 21 or more games from www.Bowl.com – you must provide a printout from bowl.com.

ii)                  Highest 2011/2012 Book Average (excluding Summer) with 21 or more games from www.Bowl..com – you must provide a printout from bowl.com

iii)                 If neither of these are available, a verified USBC Youth League average from the current season (based on a minimum of 21 games) may be used. Proof of average must be provided.

iv)                 All others must bowl scratch in Division A

      b) Documentation

i) Verified USBC Certified Sport Averages will be adjusted in accordance with Rule 202D

                 ii) A printout containing the bowler’s average MUST be supplied with the entry

11.) AWARDS

      a) Winners will be awarded scholarship money, deposited into the bowler’s SMART scholarship account (via                   SMART Account #12119).

      b) Scholarships are be awarded on a 1:5 rat

12.) Protests s involving eligibility or playing rules must be made to tournament management in writing within the             time limits in Rule 329. The decision of tournament management will be final unless a written appeal is filed              with USBC Headquarters within the time limits in Rule 329.

13.) All rules not covered will be governed by USBC rule book.
